In 2000, DJ Ready D, DJ E-20, and DJ Azuhl – internationally recognised DJs – identified a powerful way to uplift their impoverished community in South Africa. They harnessed their extensive knowledge and experience in the business of DJing as well as their enormous personal collective network to empower others to join their movement, leading to the creation of the The Scratchlab, which later became the BeatBangaz DJ Academy. 

In 2011, the BeatBangaz DJ collective—comprising DJ Ready D, DJ E-20, and DJ Azuhl – identified a powerful way to uplift their community. They harnessed their extensive knowledge and experience in the DJing business as well as their enormous personal collective network to empower others, leading to the creation of the BeatBangaz DJ Academy.

G-CAP’s BeatBangaz DJ Academy empowers communities to unleash their potential through the power of music. The programme offers young people specialised and unique courses that blend traditional DJ techniques and new technology to equip them with comprehensive, employable skills in DJing and music production. It nurtures new talent at every skill level, fostering discipline, technical expertise, and artistic innovation in a supportive learning environment.

BeatBangaz Academy instructors engage directly with students in an inspiring and supportive atmosphere. The Academy’s influence has transcended South Africa’s borders, nurturing talented alumni from across Africa and around the globe. Many of the graduates have achieved significant success, thanks to the exceptional mentorship and training provided by the Academy’s instructors.
